The Reason Behind Bayern Munich Rejecting A Move For Cristiano Ronaldo

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich have rejected claims that they wanted to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. He was offered to the Bavarian giants by his agent but there was no concrete plans.

The 37-year-old’s has one year left one his contract with an option to extend it until 2024. He only returned to Old Trafford last summer. However, the Red Devils are thinking of an overhaul after a season in which they finished with their lowest-ever Premier League point total.

Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata are just a few of the players that have left during Erik ten Hag’s first summer in command. The veteran forward doesn’t naturally play in a high press system that the former Ajax manager prefers to play with.

Ronaldo had scored 24 goals across all competitions despite a challenging season overall. He will be Ten Hag’s key key player due to his leadership skills. Even if Ronaldo himself has said he is looking forward to working with the new boss, the rumours doesn’t speak the same thing.

The club has so far been unable to sign a single player, and has Ronaldo growing more and more alarmed. Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona is still United’s primary target, but other deals seem to be on hold until talks with the Blaugrana are officially announced.

Ronaldo is worried since Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Arsenal have all made progress recently.

According to a report from Sky Sports in Germany, the Portuguese player’s agent and longtime friend Jorge Mendes tried to plan a departure by pitching his client to Bayern Munich, the current German champions.

Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be moving to the Allianz, though, according to the club’s director Hasan Salihamidzic, who addressed the rumours.

Ronaldo might have been considered as a replacement for departing forward Robert Lewandowski. But was not pursued by Bayern Munich. The key explanation is claimed to be their firmness to maintain a wage structure in light of the fact that the legendary goal scorer now earns roughly £500,000 per week.

Along with his pay, his age and—possibly more importantly—his capacity to perform in a high-pressing style with a focus on players ready to put in the extra work.

Finally, there were concerns about how manager Julian Nagelsmann’s presence would affect the chemistry of the locker room because he is about three years younger than Ronaldo.
