Manchester United and Liverpool have been rivals for as long as one can remember and while in the past managers and players have taken cheeky jibes at each other it doesn’t always have to be that way.
When asked by his fans about who would constitute his five-a-side fantasy team Thiago mentioned that De Gea would definitely be in goal along with some of the other teammates.
Manchester United has gone on top of the table by surpassing Liverpool who seems to be struggling to get back their rhythm and there has been a lot of recent banter where Jurgen Klopp alleged that Manchester United is awarded more penalties than anybody.
Thiago explains that his five a side team would consist of players with whom he shares a good bonding and chemistry rather than just picking the most skilful players in every position.
He also chose Rodrigo who is a striker for their bitter rivals Leeds United. He shares a good bond with both of them and also included his brother Rafinha and former Barcelona teammate Jonathan Dos Santos.
Thiago Alcantara was on the radar of many of the top clubs in Europe and even Manchester United had shown some interest in him but he finally decided to go to Liverpool as they had already negotiated good terms with him.
Thiago has had a tough start in his life in the Premier League as it has been laced by frequent injuries. He has found it difficult to have a string of matches together and the injury against Everton at the start of the season may have disrupted his first season at Merseyside.
