Injury Update

Tuanzebe recovery boost

Manchester United FC have been in the lookout of a centre-back this summer, predominantly because of Maguire and Lindelof’s incompatibility. It has also coupled with the injury of Axel Tuanzebe, who was seen as United’s long-term centre-back solution with Harry Maguire. Tuanzebe has been injured for a long time now but now Manchester Evening News that the centre-back has finally recovered from his injuries.

Axel Tuanzebe is one of the best young centre-backs in the world, having played his best days at Aston Villa on-loan. The 22-year old had helped Villa move from the Championship to the Premier League in the 2018/19 season. At United, Tuanzebe has performed well whenever he has been called up and has even captained the side.

It was reported that the youngster had undergone foot surgery in June and has now completely recovered without any setbacks. Solskjaer also said: “Axel is getting closer. In a few weeks’ time, I guess he will be with us training full-time and hopefully we’ll be able to give him games quickly.” Manchester United and Solskjaer would be very happy with this news as United lack quality centre-backs.

The recovery of Tuanzebe will give Solskjaer more options and the centre-back is expected to be used more this season than the last season.
