Manchester United will play Chelsea which will certainly be a blockbuster match. Tuchel had showered high praise on the United team and knew that this game will be a difficult one to play.
He has now mentioned the importance of Bruno Fernandes. Everyone knows that Bruno has been simply outstanding for United. Many tried to sign him during his time at Sporting CP. But United won the cat race and landed the Portuguese.
Since then Fernandes has scored and assisted in most of the games for Manchester United. Barely there are any games in which he didnt perform. Many coaches tried to rope him in when he was available for a transfer and now Tuchel has admitted that he tried to sign him during his time at PSG.
Tuchel said: “We tried to make it happen. It was when we just arrived. My first sporting director in Paris knew very well. We watched more and more games about him. We fought hard to have a connection to him and to bring him to our team We tried and he went another way. It is bad for us that we have to play against him. He was a big personality for Sporting and an effective goalscorer and an effective guy to make the other players around more dangerous.”
Tuchel had high praise for Bruno. He stated that having such an impact in such a short period is simply remarkable.
He said: “To come from Portugal, from a competitive team – a big club but not from the strongest league – and step to one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and the strongest league in Europe, and to have this kind of impact, I have nothing but the biggest respect for this guy. He has a huge, huge impact, and to have this as a single person in football, you must be absolutely top-level because this is almost impossible. The impact he has had is indescribable and unbelievable.”
Tuchel was right in his words and even Solksjaer knows that he has a gem in his hands. We hope Bruno shows his class once again against Chelsea.
