According to Sky Germany Journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United is no longer in the running to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham next summer.
Bellingham has made outstanding growth at Dortmund over the past two and a half seasons, making him one of the most sought-after midfielders in European football at the moment.
His time at Birmingham City has made it clear that United is a fan of him, but it has since emerged that the club has little chance of signing the young player.
Plettenberg claims that Liverpool are presently vying for his signature and that Dortmund are seeking a price between €100 and €150 million for their prized asset. Christian Eriksen was acquired by United last summer on a free transfer. The Danish player has performed admirably from the number eight spot, but the team needs more competition for positions.
Bellingham would be a fantastic addition. He has excelled at tackling, winning regular duels, and consistently contributing to goals at the age of just 19.
He undoubtedly possesses world-class potential and would be a natural addition to any elite European team.
The question is if Bellingham is ready to join another team going through transitions even though United has long had an interest in recruiting him. In addition to the Red Devils, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Manchester City have also been mentioned in connection with Bellingham, and each of those teams has recently won a lot of trophies.
Given Bellingham’s success for England at the World Cup, this has likely eliminated United from the Bellingham race. Enzo Fernandez of Benfica is one of many excellent options still available to the Red Devils.
