Manchester United FC sent their young goalkeeper Dean Henderson on-loan to Sheffield United, where he has shined between the sticks. Henderson was on-loan at Sheffield last season also, but in the Championship, and the Blades wanted to keep him for one more year. With his superb performances, Henderson has caught the eyes of Chelsea, but United have ruled out a move to London.
Dean Henderson played for the Blades last season as well and wanted to experience game-time in the Premier League this season. Thus, United obliged his request and sent him on-loan to Sheffield again, where he has shown his quality. Henderson has been one of the best goalkeepers in the league and has been an integral member of Sheffield United.
The 23-year old has kept 13 clean-sheets in the Premier League, which is only his first season in the top flight. The Englishman has been very vocal about his dream to play for the Red Devils and be their No.1. With De Gea’s inconsistency in the goal, Henderson will be pushing the Spaniard for a place in between the sticks for United.
But United want Henderson to spend one more season on-loan in the top flight, before coming back to Old Trafford. Chelsea have had their goalkeeping sorrows with mistakes from Arrizabalaga, and are looking for a new man. The Blues tried to contact Henderson, but the Red Devils have blocked the move, as they don’t want him to go to a Premier League contender.
Henderson has done exceptionally well this season and England manager, Gareth Southgate might offer him a place in the squad. United are looking for a club in the top flight to loan him out to, but not in the Premier League. The Red Devils want him to go to a top club, to see how Henderson handles the pressure.
United will reportedly give De Gea one more year to resurrect his old form, and if not will replace him. His obvious replacement will be Dean Henderson, as he will not cost United a single penny. Only time will tell if Dean Henderson ever becomes the No.1 with Manchester United.
