Harry Maguire, the captain of Manchester United, will miss his side’s Premier League match against Wolves after being pulled out of the team for tonight’s match at Old Trafford due to injury.
After suffering an injury in United’s 3-1 win over Burnley last week, the England defender was unable to gather with the rest of his teammates at the team hotel.
The extent of Maguire’s injury has still to be determined, but The Athletic claims that he will miss tonight’s game, leaving United with few options.
Victor Lindelof has been sent in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19, and Eric Bailly has not been spotted at the team hotel as he prepares to represent his country at the AFCON. It’s possible that Phil Jones will make his first start of the season, however, Bailly could yet make an appearance.
Raphael Varane has been given special attention since returning from a hamstring injury, but he might mark his return from injury against an in-form Wolves team looking to close the gap on United with a win at the Theatre of Dreams.
Maguire’s form has deteriorated dramatically this season, and he has been hugely criticized by fans for his performances.
He was paired alongside Bailly for the win over Burnley, although the two were both at fault when Aaron Lennon scored in the first half, with Bailly giving the ball away and Maguire being called out for being slow in catching up with the pace of the former Tottenham winger.
