United coaching staff to stay even after Rangnick appointment

Manchester United supporters will be disappointed to know about Rangnick’s decision in relation to the coaching staff at the club. Ralf Rangnick has been appointed as the new interim manager for this season with two years of consultancy at the club.

Following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Lokomotiv Moscow boss is set to take over as interim manager.

United is waiting for the Home Office to process Rangnick’s work permit application, according to Manchester Evening News, so he won’t be in control until after the Arsenal game.

The German manager is expected to bring in his own staff, but only a small number of coaches, with Lars Kornetka, perhaps being one of them. Rangnick is claimed to have been provided films from training sessions so that when he arrives, he can ‘strike the ground running.’

The former RB Leipzig man was apparently given less than 24 hours to prepare for his job interview, but he performed so brilliantly that the Red Devils dropped the plans to hire any other coach.

Rangnick will aid the director of football John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher strengthens the present coach setup.

Some supporters believed that Solskjaer’s resignation was insufficient because he wasn’t in control of the training sessions that failed to produce results on the field.

Behind the scenes, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna were thought to be in charge, and many blamed the inexperienced duo for the terrible lack of structure on the pitch.

Many people will prefer Rangnick to come in with his own coaching team, but it appears the board is unwilling to change the current system and instead wants the manager to lead them. With this, Michael Carrick, Kieran McKenna, Richard Hartis, and Mike Phelan will still be at the club.

It will be intriguing to watch what happens as everything is finalized, but the coaching staff has a long way to go in regaining the supporters’ trust.
