United don’t want to play games with Spurs over the signing Harry Kane

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United has been widely linked with a bid for Tottenham Hotspur star striker Harry Kane this summer.

He is Erik Ten Hag’s primary target ahead of the summer window. Additionally, the 29-year-old is apparently well-admired by the Dutch manager.

However, United doesn’t want to drag out a transfer dispute with the Spurs over signing their star player. The Red Devils don’t want to play games with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who is known as football’s toughest negotiator.

The 29-year-old’s current contract expires in June 2024. However, he is not likely to agree to a new contract with Tottenham, who has had a very challenging 2022–2023 season thus far.

After being destroyed 6-1 by Newcastle United, the Lilywhites’ hopes of making the Champions League for the following season looks slim. They are now six points behind the top four spot.

Kane, one of the top players in the English league, has never won a significant title for his team and is unlikely to anytime soon. As a result, it is expected that the English star would leave Spurs during the summer transfer window.

Although Manchester City was willing to spend £127 million for Kane in the summer of 2021, they were unable to secure a deal. This is good news for United.

Erik Ten Hag’s side may turn to Victor Osimhen if talks with the 29-year-old proved to be too challenging. But because the Nigerian player has a deal with Napoli through 2025, his transfer price will probably be significantly higher.

Randal Kolo Muani, Rasmus Hojlund, Goncalo Ramos, and Mohammed Kudus, players who are seen as less expensive options to Kane or Osimhen, have also been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
