Manchester United FC were linked with a lot of midfielders at the beginning of the summer transfer window. But the name that was linked with the Red Devils the most was of Jack Grealish, who has reportedly been priced out of a move to United. The Red Devils are now looking at David Brooks as Grealish’s alternative, and have been handed a boost in his pursuit.
When the interest for David Brooks began arising, it was widely believed that he was an alternative to Sancho. Jadon Sancho has been United’s priority signing this summer, and the United fans were disgusted with Brooks interest. But as the air of doubt cleared, it was reported that by Evening Standard that Brooks was an alternative to Grealish rather than Sancho.
Brooks plies his trade at Bournemouth, who were relegated of the Premier League at the end of last season. When asked about Brooks’ future, the new Bournemouth manager, Jason Tindal, said: “I don’t think it’s a club that will stand in anybody’s way providing that the club’s happy with and it meets the valuation of the player.”
This statement has given United a boost in their chase of Brooks, who is valued at about £40m by Bournemouth. Brooks might become a great signing for United but the club should first go for Grealish and use Brooks only as an alternative.
