United Handed Boost As Aguero Is Set To Miss The Manchester Derby

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that his star forward Sergio Aguero will miss the crunch Manchester derby against Manchester United on 7th December due to a muscle injury, barring a miracle handing the fallen giants a big injury bonus.

The Premier League champions are currently nine points behind leaders of the pack Liverpool and Guardiola is quite eager to make up ground on Jurgen Klopp’s team. However, the blue half of Manchester has been handed another setback as Argentine forward Sergio Aguero has picked up an injury that will rule him out of the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

Aguero developed the injury during the 2-1 win against Chelsea on Saturday and is set to miss the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk midweek along with Newcastle, Burnley and Manchester United. The 31-year-old has been City’s top scorer this season finding the back of the net 15 times in all competitions so far.

The Spanish manager confirmed Aguero’s expulsion by speaking to reporters and explaining, “He will be out a few weeks. Exactly [how long] I don’t know. He will miss the derby – maybe we’ll have a miracle but I don’t think so.”

Aguero’s injury will be a massive boost for Manchester United as the struggling Premier League giants will not have to deal with his strength and high-quality finishing.

Gabriel Jesus will be the most likely option to replace Aguero as the main striker but the Brazilian is also capable of producing moments of brilliance to unlock defenses.
