Manchester United FC have been in the lookout of a striker this season who could give competition to Anthony Martial. The French striker was superb last season but Solskjaer wants competition for a place in his United squad to enhance performance levels. It is now being reported by The Sun that the Red Devils have now shifted their attention to the likes of Patson Daka of RB Salzburg.
Martial was the top scorer for United in all competitions last season, but without him, United don’t have a competent striker. Odion Ighalo was signed in January, but the striker has found it difficult to get minutes in the Premier League. The Red Devils have a lack of options in the centre-forward department and need to fill in quick.
The Sun reported that United are now interested in signing RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka. The 21-year old Zambian has scored 24 goals in the Austrian League last season, as RB Salzburg won the league. United aren’t alone in the chase of Daka, as Liverpool are also interested in signing the forward.
Daka is contracted to Salzburg till 2024, thus any deal for him will mean a lot of cash, thus this deal might be unlikely to happen.
