Gareth Bale was once one of the best players in the world, but his recent years at Real Madrid have proven to be difficult. The Welshman has been plagued with injuries and his off the field antics haven’t gone well with Madrid boss Zinadine Zidane. It is now being reported by the Daily Mail that Madrid are considering the sale of Bale, with United interested.
The 33-year old Welsh talisman has been linked several times with Manchester United over the years. Reportedly, Bale was wanted by Mourinho, when he was the manager of the Red Devils, but a move for Bale never happened. But sighting the current situation of Bale at Madrid and him publicly criticizing the club, a move is imminent.
In his recent interview with Sky Sports, Bale said: “’Last year they blocked everything at the last second, so it was a project that I was excited for last year but it didn’t materialise. There have been other incidents when we’ve tried to go but the club wouldn’t allow it or have done something, so as for the club, what can I say.”
Bale’s wages are one of the highest in the world, and his injury records have been poor in the last couple of years. It is highly unlikely for Bale to come to United, as the club has targeted Sancho as their priority signing.
