Manchester United FC have always been linked to talented young prospects who have the potential to be the very best. The Red Devils are wasting time to get things going this transfer window and are keen to get a few youngsters onboard. It is now reported that the Red Devils are in talks with 19-year old Rayan Ait-Nouri of Angers.
Rayan Ait-Nouri is a young left-footed left-back who plies his trade with Angers SCO in the top flight of French football. The French left-back has represented his national side in the u-18 and u-21 levels and is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes. The super-agent is one of the mist renowned agents in football and represents the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa and James Rodriguez.
Jorge Mendes has had a healthy relationship with Manchester United and Ed Woodward specifically and United might take advantage of it. But United aren’t the only ones looking at the young Frenchman, as the noisy neighbours also have their sight on him. Along with Manchester City, Leicester, PSG and Monaco are also said to be interested in signing the talented left-back from Angers.
The 19-year old has played 17 games this season in the Ligue-1 despite his tender age and has also assisted three goals. The Angers board and manager have already decided they will not stop Ait-Nouri to join another club this summer. Angers finished in the 11th position in the Ligue-1 and have been struggling financially due to the pandemic scenario.
The club has already identified Ait-Nouri’s successor and will use the 19-year old’s transfer fees to bolster their squad. United surely need a left-footed left-back who can drive down the line, and the Frenchman can do that. Luke Shaw’s injury has been a testament to the lack in depth of the squad at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are in the lookout of a left-back this season and will try to keep it as cheap as possible. Woodward and Solskjaer have other transfer priorities but will try to lure in Ait-Nouri if available for a cheap price.
