Manchester United FC were reportedly in the lookout of a centre-back this summer but haven’t signed a defender this summer yet. The Red Devils have signed only one played yet and the centre-back which was reportedly a priority signing has not been made yet. It is now being reported by French newspaper L’Equipe that the Red Devils might put in a desperate last-minute bid to sign Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.
Victor Lindelof had a nightmare against Crystal Palace as United lost the season opener against the Eagles. The Swedish international had a hand in all three of Palace’s goals and thus United are in red alert to sign a new centre-back. It was earlier reported about United’s interest in Badiashile, but a transfer never materialized for the French defender.
It is now being reported by the French daily that United might be tempted to put a formal bid for Badiashile. The search of a left-footed centre-back for United might finally end if they successfully sign Badiashile from Monaco. Monaco coach Niko Kovar has been adamant on keeping Badiashile at Monaco but if United table an important bid, it will be hard for Monaco to reject it.
Badiashile would be a good signing for the Red Devils of they get it over the line but will have to act fast with only two weeks left in the transfer window.
