Manchester United FC have made their first signing of the summer transfer window by securing the services of Serbian prodigy Filip Stevanovic. United have been publicly busy with the major signing of Jadon Sancho but have also been able to get this deal done. The winger will be sent back to his club, Partizan Belgrade, on-loan the next season though, for his development.
The Red Devils, for once, have done a deal without making a lot of noise about it. As Serbian outlet Republika reports, the talented winger has been signed for about €12m from Partizan Belgrade but will stay with the club next season. Stevanovic is often referred to as the “Serbian Eden Hazard” in his native country, because of his dribbling skills.
Stevanovic has played 35 games in all competitions, in which he has scored nine goals and has provided tree more assists. The talented winger also featured against Manchester United in both the group stage games in the Europa League this season. The 17-year will not be a world-class player anytime soon, but he surely has the potential to become one of the best.
With such a signing, Manchester United are showing their vision as a club which is looking towards the future. But the need of the hour is signing a major player who will instantly make the team better.
