United Midfielder Donny van de Beek Returns to Training Amid Injury Setbacks

As reported by the club’s official website, Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has returned to training at Carrington after a season-ending knee injury he suffered in January.

The club has released a few photos of Van de Beek working with coaches on the pitch. Since joining United in 2020, his career with the team has been disappointing, marked by injuries and poor form that have kept him out of the lineup for a significant portion of his time there.

The appointment of Erik ten Hag as United’s manager was seen as a positive development for Van de Beek, as they had previously worked together at Ajax.

However, a muscle injury early in the season forced the Dutch midfielder to spend a considerable amount of time on the sidelines. Throughout the season, the 26-year-old has made only ten appearances, failing to revive his stagnating career.

Van de Beek was loaned out to Everton for six months before Ten Hag joined United, but he failed to make a lasting impression during his time there.

The Red Devils are in need of selling players this summer to increase their transfer budget, and the 26-year-old is one of the players who could potentially leave Old Trafford.

However, it may prove challenging for United to find a buyer for the midfielder, considering his limited playing time over the past three years. Van de Beek is not match-ready, which could discourage potential suitors from signing him.
