United ready to make a loan move for Chelsea star Christian Pulisic

As reported by Mark Ogden of ESPN, Chelsea star Christian Pulisic might join a new club once he finishes his World Cup campaign in Qatar this month.

Manchester United is willing to take on a loan deal for Pulisic, who is expected to be permitted to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window. The Red Devils do not have any major plans for the mid-season transfer window, although Pulisic has certain advantages due to his versatility.

Erik ten Hag is also in search of a forward to take Cristiano Ronaldo’s place after the club terminated his contract last week.  United previously expressed interest in Pulisic back in August when the American star was reportedly dissatisfied with his lack of playing time under Chelsea’s then-manager Thomas Tuchel.

Before Chelsea decided to keep Pulisic in West London, a number of Champions League clubs in Italy and Spain as well as Newcastle United made inquiries about the young star.

With his participation in every minute of the USMNT’s current World Cup campaign, Pulisic has been a crucial part of the team. Pulisic’s experience has been very different on the club side.

This season, he has only made three starts for Chelsea and has only played the full ninety minutes once, in a Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City. In 23 appearances, he has one goal and one assist.

Pulisic has scored 25 goals in all competitions since moving to Chelsea in a £58 million trade from Borussia Dortmund four years ago. His current deal with the team will expire in two years’ time.
