Manchester United are said to be actively looking for a centre-back in the transfer window after Maguire and Lindelof have failed to impress together. The Red Devils are looking for a young centre-back, who is quick and preferably left-footed as well. It is now reported by The Sun that United are now interested in signing Brighton defender Ben White, this transfer window.
Maguire and Lindelof have failed to prove that they can play together and Solskjaer is looking to sign a centre-back this summer. Ben White has emerged as an option for the Red Devils, but United face tough competition. Leeds, Liverpool, Chelsea are also reportedly monitoring White’s situation at Brighton, after the defender starred on-loan with Leeds, in their move up to the Premier League.
Ben White is valued at about £50m at Brighton, and the club surely intends to sell the player. The 22-year old centre-back played all the 46 games in the Championship for Leeds United and was solid throughout the season. The Red Devils surely would like that price tag to come down for them to think about signing Ben White.
Solskjaer had earlier said that he was content with his defensive department, but United are surely looking for a solid centre-back.
