As reported by The Mirror, Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood will soon become a father for the first time.
The club has suspended the English star who was arrested in early 2022 on rape and assault suspicions. He was then arrested again on allegations of uttering murderous threats and sexual assault.
In February 2023, the allegations against the athlete were withdrawn, and a statement on his behalf stated that he was “relieved that this situation is now ended.”
The 21-year-old and his family are aware of his partner’s pregnancy and are getting ready for the arrival of the Greenwood’s first child.
Although still under contract with the club, the English star is currently suspended pending an internal investigation and is not expected to play again for the first team this season. The internal investigation could take some time and therefore, Greenwood is unlikely to play before the 2022–23 season.
Greenwood was scheduled to go on trial in November 2023 but this will no longer be the case anymore. United has stated that at this time, “no further remark” would be made on the striker’s current situation.
The academy graduate made his final appearance for United in a Premier League match against West Ham United in January 2022.
