West Ham United expect club captain Declan Rice to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window, with Manchester United among the clubs interested in the English midfielder.
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are also reportedly monitoring his situation. However,
West Ham chairman David Sullivan confirmed that Rice will be allowed to leave without any hesitation by the club. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, he said:
“We gave the promise last summer that if he gave us his all, we would let him leave the club. It’s a fair and proper thing to do.”
Rice has risen through the ranks at West Ham, establishing himself as a vital player for the club. At just 24 years old, he holds the captaincy and has consistently improved, becoming one of the Premier League’s top midfielders.

Recently, the English defensive midfielder led the Hammers to victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League, defeating Fiorentina in the final.
As a result, the team has secured a spot in the Europa League for the upcoming season under the guidance of manager David Moyes.
Man United made a significant signing last summer by bringing in former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro. His presence has greatly improved the midfield dynamics for the Red Devils.
However, the team has faced challenges in Casemiro’s absence, as Scott McTominay and Fred have been unable to adequately fill the void.

This has highlighted the need for a reliable backup option. Rice is likely to seek regular playing time wherever he goes. At United, with Casemiro performing exceptionally well, there may be no guarantee of consistent minutes for Rice.
Hence, it is highly unlikely that the player will try to force a move to Man United this summer.
