United target Jadon Sancho admits that he was a boyhood Chelsea fan

Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho has revealed that he was a childhood Chelsea fan who idolized special players like Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

Sancho, who hails from London, has recently lived in Manchester where he came through Man City’s foundation prior to moving to Borussia Dortmund looking for first-team football. The bet paid off and now the English winger is needed by the greatest club in England – offering him a move back to his country to play in the Premier League.

The winger has scored 50 goals and given 64 assists 137 games across all rivalries since joining BVB in 2017 as a very young player. He has won the DFL Super Cup and the DFB Pokal during his time at the club.

Talking ahead of the prestigious Euro 2020, Sancho was approached to name the legends he idolizes.

He said while interviewing with talkSPORT: “I’d probably say, Frank Lampard. I was a Chelsea fan growing up, I can’t lie! Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favorite players at the time. I just love Lampard and how he played his game; he was so direct and so composed on the ball. I like things like that.”

We must say that Lampard and Drogba were great players and Sancho has a great choice. Obviously, all the Chelsea fans will be happy to hear this but Sancho is close to joining Manchester United now.

Manchester United has been watching Sancho for quite a long time yet it would appear that progress is being made this late spring. Manchester United has been taking their efforts in agreeing all the personal terms with the player and his agent.

Ideally, he will be essential for our front three next season and he will certainly take our attacking game to the next level. A readymade starter for Solksjaer and that’s what he always wanted.
