United to give Sporting Lisbon £9m more for Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United FC changed their fortunes in the Premier League as they signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January. The Portuguese attacking midfielder has added goals and assists to the lacklustre United side and has improved them massively. With 19 appearances for the Red Devils and United on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League, United might have to pay Sporting Lisbon £9m more.

The Red Devils signed Bruno Fernandes for an initial transfer fee of £47m from Sporting Lisbon. Reportedly the English club will have to pay Sporting Lisbon £4.5m when Bruno makes 20 appearances for United, according to the clauses included in Bruno’s contract. And the Portuguese club will get an additional £4.5m if United secure Champions League football next season.

Bruno Fernandes has been an absolute revelation for United and has lifted the entire squad with his aura. Along with goals and assists, he has lifted the confidence of players like Martial, Pogba and Matic, who are now irreplaceable in the United starting 11. He has been at the centre of everything the Red Devils have done going forward.

In just 19 games for the Red Devils, Bruno has scored nine goals and has provided eight assists. Having joined Manchester United in January, he has already become the highest assist provided for the Red Devils. Bruno is one of the main catalysts of United’s 19-game unbeaten run and their third-place position in the Premier League table.

The 25-year old has turned out to be one of the best players in the Premier League and has completely changed the fortunes of United. While inserting the clauses, Sporting Lisbon reported felt that the clauses were unrealistic as reported. But the Portuguese club will be ecstatic as United need only one point in their final game of the season to get Champions League.

United are well placed on the league table to secure Champions League next season, which will bring the club loads of money. The Champions League will mean that United can attract better players to the club, and might as well complete their squad overhaul. The Red Devils won’t mind paying extra £9m to Sporting Lisbon for Bruno’s services after what he has done at Old Trafford.
