United urged to sign Mbappe by Saha

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged his old club to ‘break the bank’ and sign PSG’s star jewel Kylian Mbappe.

The Red Devils have struggled for goals this season with Marcus Rashford undergoing a dry spell in front of goal despite scoring against Liverpool last Sunday and Anthony Martial missing a large part of the season due to injury.

Kylian Mbappe meanwhile became the youngest player to score 15 Champions League goals after netting a second-half hat-trick in PSG’s 5-0 rout of Club Brugge on Tuesday.

At 20 years and 306 days old, Mbappe is almost a year younger than Lionel Messi when the Barcelona forward took the record from Raul.

And Saha thinks United should recruit PSG’s lethal frontman.

He told Compare. Bet: ‘If you ask me, I would break the bank for Mbappe, but now it’s too late.

‘But, when you look at strikers, it’s a dying breed. Lewandowski is a rare example of someone who is left, and I don’t see many players that can easily fit upfront.

‘There is a need for somebody upfront who is strong enough to hold the ball and to give time and space to the players like Paul Pogba and McTominay to create something in midfield to put passes together.

‘You’re asking a lot from young players because passing the ball around and having nice touches, it just looks too nice and it doesn’t work.

Mbappe’s PSG contract ends in 2022, although the French champions are eager to tie him down for longer and United will have to make a massive bid for PSG to consider parting with their prized asset.
