As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United will play National League team Wrexham as part of their preseason tour of the US.
Throughout the past 20 years, the Red Devils have travelled to the US frequently. The club has undergone eight preseason exercises in the country, and this summer they want to go on another tour this summer.
The team will be visiting the nation for the first time since 2018. United has not yet released the complete schedule, although it is anticipated that they will play Wrexham in San Diego on July 26.
Wrexham has made big improvements under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Next season, they might compete in League Two. A friendly matchup against United in San Diego would be a major statement ahead of the 2023–24 season given Wrexham’s steadily rising popularity and importance.
In addition, Chelsea has been invited to play against the Robins during their preseason tour of the United States. The Robins are looking to break their 15-year absence from the Football League.
United’s preseason tour of Thailand and Australia last summer was successful as fans got a peek at manager Erik ten Hag’s strategy.
In spite of this, the team had a challenging start to the new season. It must be attributed to the Glazers, who weren’t ready to support the new manager with significant transfer cash until August.
Casemiro and Antony, two crucial additions made by the Red Devils in the closing weeks of the season, have both contributed significantly to the club’s success so far this year.
Ten Hag will be looking forward to another promising preseason this summer.
