Manchester United crashed out of the semi-finals of the Europa League this season even though they were favourites to win the competitions. The Red Devils played well for most parts of the tournaments and won several accolades during the Europa League. Though United have come out of the competition trophy-less, the United players have won several individual awards in the Europa League this season.
Bruno Fernandes has been fantastic for United since his arrival in January earlier this year. The Portuguese midfielder has brought in goals and assists to the United side, which it craved for before his arrival. Fernandes has been fantastic in front of goal, especially in the Europa League, where he has scored a total of eight goals this season for United and Sporting Lisbon.
The “Portuguese magnifico” has been the Europa League top goalscorer this season. Not just Bruno, Sergio Romero has also been awarded for the highest clean-sheets in the Europa League this season. Romero kept seven clean-sheets for Manchester United throughout the course of the Europa League this season and has thus been awarded as the Golden Glove winner.
United were favourites to win the competition but lacked the much-needed experience in big games, which ultimately cost them the trophy.
