Swedish center-back Victor Lindelof has given an update on his health and stated that he wants to be ‘back with the guys’ soon.
The Swedish international hasn’t played for United since a 1-0 victory against Norwich on December 11, when he was forced to be replaced in the second half owing to breathing problems.
Following a Covid-19 outbreak at Old Trafford, United was forced to take a 16-day break before returning to Premier League action this week, but Lindelof was not in the squad.
Despite being self-isolated at his house, interim manager Ralf Rangnick announced the defender had tested positive for coronavirus.
Lindelof was given a heart monitor after his replacement at Carrow Road, but United said in a statement that he had recovered well from the experience’ and that the center-back has now contracted Covid-19. But he is now feeling fine and is extremely positive about himself.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the Swedish center-back has given positive news to the fans regarding his health status. He said:
“Hi everyone, I just wanted to check in real quick and first of all say thank you for all your messages in these past couple of weeks and obviously the past couple of days as well. I’ve seen it so I just wanted to say that I really appreciate it, so thank you so much for that. At the moment, I’m just home. I feel fine so hopefully, I can be back with the guys soon.”
He was unable to play against Burnley on Thursday and is currently self-isolating. He has the manager’s backing and will be taking the best care of himself before marking his return.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
