Injury Update

Victor Lindelof can be rested for Six Weeks

The Swede international, Victor Lindelof has sustained a muscle injury that could last as long as six weeks. The centre-back was seen limping off in the game against Crystal Palace and has been confirmed as injured by medical staff as well as Jose Mourinho.

Victor Lindelof solely soldiered Crystal Palace’s defense in the dying embers of a stalemate game this Saturday. The Swede pulled off his muscle in last moments of the game but still kept on running hard to stop the Eagles from scoring.

When the team required his lionhearted spirit and courage the most, Victor could do nothing but be on the sidelines for at least a month. A busy December and a vital one in lieu of the need to leap-frog to top 4 of Premier League, United will definitely ponder over his loss.

“No chance. He will be out for quite a while,” Mourinho said at his pre-match press conference on Monday. “He does the scan tomorrow but by the experience of the medical department and the feelings of the players, he has a muscular problem and muscular problem takes time.

“I would say if we have him for the Christmas period, where we need if possible every player to be available for that difficult period until the Newcastle match on 2 January, if we can have him available for that period it will be good.”

“He was probably our best player. He was a brave lad, but he probably punished himself. I don’t know how long he will be out, but he is a fantastic example.”

The anti-fragile attitude of Lindelof will be surely missed by United, but for how long? Probably a month or half.
