Manchester United FC prospect Angel Gomes has spoken about a video which has surfaced on the internet that shows the Red Devils youth academy graduate visiting Nigeria to consult a prophet and take his aid to help ease his injury woes.
The 19-year old Gomes is a part of a two-minute club which has garnered more than ten thousand likes on Twitter.
The player can be seen describing himself as an employee of Manchester United FC and states his age to be 16 at the time. Gomes then goes into further details as to how injuries have prevented his breakthrough into the Red Devils squad and how his career is being halted due to such a quick succession of injury troubles.
Gomes explains how his groin and hip injuries have affected his playing career in the Reds shirt and voice his concern regarding the frequency of his woes. Furthermore, the 19-year old prospect explains his motive of seeing the prophet as his parents are big fans of him and they believe it would be in their son’s best interests to consult the prophet and ease his ongoing troubles.

Since the clip has gone viral, the Red Devils player has had to comment upon the buzz surrounding his part in the video. Gomes stated that he had gone to consult the prophet as he belongs to a devout Christian household and his parents claimed it would do him good to visit Nigeria and solve the issues which sought to disrupt his bright future.
Moreover, Gomes emphasised on the point that there were more important worldly matters at the moment rather than people giving unnecessary attention to the circulated video clip.
The video clip controversy featuring Gomes comes amid constant media speculation concerning the player’s future at Old Trafford. The former England U-17 international’s current deal with Manchester United FC is set to expire at the end of June, after which the player could become a free agent. However, The Red Devils are more than keen on extending the 19-year old’s stay at the Premier League side and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reported to be urging the youngster to pen a long-term contract which would extend his stay at Old Trafford.
