Aaron Wan-Bissaka had a stellar first season with Manchester United, turning into one of the best defenders in the Premier League. The right-back is currently one of the best defensive full-backs in the world but also lacks the output going forward, which has earned him a lot of criticism. In his latest post-match interview with MUTV, Wan-Bissaka talks about his goal against Newcastle and the takeaways from the game.
Wan-Bissaka blasted the ball from close range into the top corner to score the first goal of his professional career, against Newcastle. The right-back has had a tough start to the season, especially due to not having a proper pre-season with the squad. But in the recent game against the Magpies, Wan-Bissaka played very well and to top it up, he scored a goal.
In his recent interview, “It’s a good feeling, quite an inspiring one. It was a good team performance as well. I just wanted to smash it. The keeper had been saving a few shots during the game so I thought ‘this time, let me just roof it.’”
Wan-Bissaka was one of United’s best players on the pitch and showed why the Red Devils paid so much to sign him last summer.
He will be confident to show the same level of confidence in the Champions League as Manchester United face PSG next in a day’s time. Wan-Bissaka is likely to be against either of Neymar or Mbappe and thus will have to be at his best to let United have any chance of winning the game.
