Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United will make the trip to Vicarage Road on Sunday to face the bottom of the table club Watford.
The Hornets currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table taking only nine points from their first 17 games, a record that historically means they could end up getting relegated by the end of the campaign. Watford will head into the game on the back of another defeat, after table-toppers Liverpool handed them a 2-0 defeat at Anfield last weekend, but will hope to take advantage of United’s’ vulnerabilities to salvage their top-flight status next term
On the other hand, the Red Devils are sixth place and will seek to extend their six-match unbeaten run and improve their chances of acquiring a top-four finish. This weekend’s encounter poses as the best possible chance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to close in on the Champions League berth as Spurs take on Chelsea in the other fixture as 4th and 5th placed teams battle it out.
French midfielder Paul Pogba was previously scheduled to return from injury during the Red Devils’ midweek clash against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup but the 26-year-old pulled out due to illness. However, Italian defender Diogo Dalot is back in training and is expected to make an appearance against Watford as Solskjaer plans to rest Aaron Wan Bissaka.
Another defensive trio of Eric Baily, Timothy Fosu Mensah, and Marcos Rojo are the other injured players for the visiting team.
Manchester United Predicted Starting Eleven (4-2-3-1): David De Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred; Daniel James, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial
