Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that the club is still heading in the right direction despite the poor run of results.
The Premier League giants have managed only three wins in their past 16 competitive games across all competitions ahead of hosting Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Despite that poor record, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who took charge of the club back in December last year – sees no need to change his approach to the upcoming fixtures.
The 46-year-old Norwegian was handed the reigns from his predecessor Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese manager wasn’t able to bring positive results at the club. With Solskjaer facing a tough few weeks ahead, his job is on the line but he still remains confident that his methods will work.
While speaking to UK newspapers he said, “There’s always pressure when you’re here, but of course I’m confident in what we’re doing, We’ve got a plan and the performances haven’t told me that we need to change direction. Results, that’s a different matter, but when you concede three goals from four chances, there’s not a lot you can control. There are games we should have won. We know that, but that’s another matter. We can control how we play, how we practice and how we prepare.”
With just five points out of a possible 12 so far in the Premier League, United are in eight place on the League table. The Red Devils will be hoping to earn all three points at Old Trafford on Saturday when they host Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City.
