Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that the English giants will have no trouble attracting star signings in the January transfer window as they still remain “the biggest and best club in the world”
The rumors and gossip will begin to flow as the transfer window is opening in three weeks’ time and the Red Devils have been tipped to bolster a squad that has at times been stretched to the breaking point so far this campaign.
Big-name forwards including Erling Haland and Mario Mandzukic have been linked with moves to Old Trafford, while Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Leicester City playmaker James Maddison and Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez are also rumored to make the cut on Solskjaer’s wish list.
United currently sit fifth in the Premier League and are far from certain to return to the Champions League this season, it has been suggested they could struggle to land their primary winter targets, although recent victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have cleared some of the doubts about their progress under the Norwegian.
Ahead of Manchester United’s clash against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, the 46-year-old explained the reason as to why Manchester United can still attract the big names in football, “You said agents, but I’m sure players would want to be here, I don’t speak to too many agents. Man United is the biggest and best club in the world and I’m sure there are so many players who would want to be part of the rebuild of Man United. We want to play the type of football our fans and players enjoy.”
