West Ham United are reportedly considering making a new attempt to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, as reported by the Evening Standard.
West Ham had previously expressed interest in acquiring the Scottish international earlier this month, offering £30 million, which was quickly rejected.
However, it appears that the Hammer’s pursuit of McTominay isn’t over, and they might make a fresh move for the 26-year-old before the transfer window closes. United are unwilling to let go of their academy product for less than £45 million.
The Red Devils have encountered a setback as Mason Mount has sustained a hamstring injury, with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for up to six weeks.

As a result, the senior midfield options remaining include Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, and Donny van de Beek, although the latter is not in favour under Manager Erik ten Hag.
West Ham might consider making a fresh offer for McTominay closer to his valuation, but it’s suggested that United should retain him unless they have plans to pursue a new midfielder.
Despite months of speculation linking Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat to a move to Old Trafford, there has been no communication between United and the Serie A team at this point.
If McTominay departs, Amrabat could emerge as a potential target for United. He is seen as an improvement over the Scottish star, particularly in terms of his superior distribution and ball control in midfield.

Currently valued at approximately £26 million by Fiorentina, this price could easily be covered by United through McTominay’s potential departure.
Hence, the African midfielder would be considered a high-quality addition to the squad.
