Who are the 5 players Manchester United can turn to this summer to replace Edinson Cavani?

Manchester United are believed to be closely monitering Edinson Cavani’s contract impasse with the veteran forward yet to agree upon extended terms which would extend his stay beyond the summer in the Red Devils shirt.

Since his arrival last summer Cavani has been an influential presence both on and off the pitch for Ole Gunnar Soslaker’s side and with his recent return from injury, the Urugyan has hit the ground running when it comes to finding the back of the net as United strive to clinch the second place finish in the Premier League standings.

However, the 34-year-old’s future looks quite uncertain at the club amid intersest shown in his services by Argentine outfit Boca Juniors, leaving Solskajer to ponder over his plans for the summer transfer window in which the United boss would be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements should Cavani decide to call it quits at Old Trafford.

Here are 5 names which would be Manchester United’s radar for the summer to come-

1. Erling Haaland

By all means a difficutl tranfer to pull off for the cash-strapped Manchester giants it is no wonder that Solskajer would push for the club’s board to battle hard for Erling Haaland’s signature.

The Norway international is quite the hot property heading into this summer on the back of his superb goalscoring run for Dortmund and has courted concrete interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea with a gigantic figure of €180 million doing the rounds of late.

2. Memphis Depay

A former Manchester United man himself, Depay is understood to be on the verge of exiting Lyon ahead of the next season with his current deal coming to a close in the summer.

Depay had endured a terrible time in the Manchester United colours during his former spell and the Holland international would be hoping for a contrast in fortunes should he arrive at Old Trafford for a second time.

3. Yousseff En-Nesyri

The Red Devils seem to have fallen behind West Ham United in the race to sign the Sevilla talisman in recent times with their fellow top-four challengers occupying the pole position.

En-Nesyri has scored 22 goals in 45 outings for Sevilla over the course of this season and should a move to a top European side await the 23-year-old Moroccon this summer, United would find themselves right in the mix to contest for his signature.

4. Dejan Kulusevski

Kulusevski is one name that has gained attention from Manchester United since the turn of the year with the Swedish youngster impressing critics with his showings in the Serie A for the under-fire Juventus.

Should Solskajer capture the highly-rated winger, Marcus Rashford might be allowed to move back into the central striking role for the Old Trafford outfit which could in turn give way to a productive attacking outlet at Solskajer’s disposal.

5. Harry Kane

The final name on the list is Spurs and England talisman Harry Kane who has been linked quite often in the recent past with a switch to Manchester United as his trophy drought continues heading into the close of the ongoing campaign.

Kane at 28 years of age is understood to be looking for his next destination come this summer and United remain in the reckoning to fork out a decent sum of money to land his signature and bolster their first-team ranks.
