English Premier League

Will Odion Ighalo start for Manchester United against Chelsea?

Manchester United visits Chelsea at home aiming for a top-four position being occupied by Frank Lampard’s at the moments. The Blues are six points above Manchester United in the Premier League and this will be the bone of contention when both sides meet on Monday Night.

A lot of expectations are channeled towards this game and this will range from United’s starting line-up more as the host file out with their own eleven on the pitch.

On Monday it would be interesting to see how the Red Devils line up particularly as they signed Portuguese midfield star Bruno Fernandes. This also includes the loan acquisition of forward Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua for the rest of the season.

This transfer have been talked about much in the public and the press as the case may be with club legends and bookmakers giving their analysis as it pertains Odion’s move to United towards the end of the January window.

This has prompted the quest to know if the former Watford ace would start against Chelsea for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men. As it stands the Nigerian will not probably start barring any last minutes changes on the United’s team sheet.

This is expected as Anthony Martial and Daniel James could lead the line for the Reds Devils at Chelsea.

The latter should get the nod owing to his blistering pace in transition and this could make a good partner to the French man Martial even as Marcus Rashford continues to miss out due to injury (back issue).

This sees Odion Ighalo having to make his debut from the bench as thetwo players (Martial and James) are more accustomed to each other.

Odion is expected to be introduced in the second half and this would serve him right as he will have to study the game before unleashing his wares against the Chelsea defense at the latter stages of the game.

It would come as a surprise for the player to be thrown into the tray from the start as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should know better while understanding the physiology and the mental readiness of his players.

This is necessary to be considered while we expect the Nigerian to taste action for Manchester United against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday Night.
