Young Boys vs Manchester United: Match Report

In the midst of doubts, on United’s talent and fight to be competing for title in the Premier League, United prevailed over Young Boys of Switzerland with a 3-0 win in captivating 90 minutes of play.

The home side could not get the desired result and would be disappointed with the result they got in light of their talent. Swiss runners-up are not to be taken for granted, which they announced to Juventus and Valencia last night. The result may seem a one-sided affair which does not hold true for a healthy part of the game.

Kevin Mbabu, the name that can be added to United’s defence very soon. After a delightful performance last night, the Swiss defender impressed one and all with his skills and pace with Mourinho being no exception. The 23-year-old was fast with his legs, creating chances more often than not. We could see him running through the flanks delivering balls in the box. He surely could have made the difference if United did not manage to show their class in every aspect on the field.

United got on their shoes after a impeccable left boot shoot from Pogba outside the box. Pogba could do it so effortlessly but with great power. No goalkeeper could have saved a brilliant left foot kick in the top corner.

Easy as you like Pogba buried it from the spot to double the lead for United after a hand ball from Young Boys defender Kevin Mbabu off Luke Shaw’s cross. The referee awarded the spot kick which was calmly accepted by United’s captain. Going into the half with 2-0 surely gave United an upper-hand on the game. United’s forward looked stable as ever with Lukaku in the center, Martial and Rashford on either flanks. Martial who got a start in place of Sanchez did not fail to impress and scored a brace to make the score 3-0.

What made unnoticed by many was Rashford’s cheeky flick in first 15 minutes off Shaw’s pass that kissed the woodwork otherwise the scoring would have been 4-0.

Nevertheless, a game won is a step forward to the title. Now we’ll have to wait till October 3 to see the man in Red back in action against Valencia.
