Manchester United set to offer a huge wage bump to Dean Henderson

English goalkeeper Dean Henderson is set to be offered a new mouthwatering £100,000-a-week contract with Manchester United FC with the club attempting to keep hold of the highly-rated 23-year old amid strong interest from Chelsea in signing him.

Henderson spent the last two seasons on loan at Sheffield United, winning promotion to the Premier League during his first year with the Blades. However, the shot-stopper’s second season really put him in the limelight with his excellent showings between the sticks for Chris Wilder’s men.

Chelsea are still in the running to secure Henderson’s signing ahead of the upcoming season for the west London outfit. Frank Lampard remains keen on signing the ex-Sheffield United loanee to replace the out-of-favor club record singing Kepa.

However, Henderson’s future in the Manchester United FC shirt is also a source of great speculation. Despite his wonderful showings away on loan these past two seasons, David de Gea remains Ole Gunnar Solkjaer’s preferred No.1 ahead of next season.

The Spaniard has, however, been dismal in goal for the Red Devils of late. The 29-year old’s recent showings has led to many of the Manchester United FC supporters calling for him to be benched in favor of the returning Henderson.
