Ed Woodward has been at the heart of all the transfer activities at Manchester United FC and the club hasn’t been successful lately. Woodward has been a much-hated figure amongst the United fan base as most of the fans feel he is incompetent to handle transfer at United. It is now being reported by Manchester Evening News that Woodward has now opened up about problems in the current transfer market.
The Red Devils have been poor this transfer window, as they have signed only one player and sold one player, that to on a free transfer. United’s incompetence to sell players has come back to haunt them as they aren’t able to use the amount that could have been generated from the sales.
In his latest interview, Woodward said: “Disruption from the pandemic is continuing to create huge economic pressures from the top to the bottom of the football pyramid and, while we are fortunate to be in a more resilient position than most clubs, we are not immune from the impact.” He also added that “Despite this, we are delighted to have brought in Donny van de Beek from Ajax, adding further quality to a midfield already strengthened by the recruitment of Bruno Fernandes in January.”
Manchester United are still linked to a couple of players and the board would be trying hard to sign quality players for Solskjaer, something that is yet to be understood in detail by the United supporters worldwide who are busy clamouring for their side to make the move for quality talents and push for a title-challenge in the 2020-21 Premier League season.
