Manchester United FC got their first victory of the Premier League season as the Red Devils beat Brighton 2-3. United were very lucky to come out of the game with all the three points as Brighton hit the post five times in the entire game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed his elation with the win but also admitted that the Red Devils got away with the victory.
The Red Devils won the game by the last kick of the game when Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot. For most of the game, the Red Devils were outplayed by Brighton with lacklustre performances from Pogba, Wan Bissaka and Martial. Brighton played very well last night but failed to take their chances as United capitalized by making sure they don’t do the same mistake.
In his press conference, Solskjaer said: “For us it’s a big thing. We have discussed it this season, we need more late goals. We were the team that lost the fewest games – apart from Liverpool – last season. But we drew too many. To get two extra points after conceding the equaliser so late on is a great boost for us.”
Manchester United players and Solskjaer must be relieved with the victory against Brighton, but the players will have to perform better. The Red Devils were lucky to get all the three points and will build from the win last night.
