Manchester United will again face Brighton and Hove Albion in the span of about four days, but this time in the Carabao Cup. The Red Devils will be buzzing after the last-minute win against the same opposition last weekend. But the same can’t be said about the Brighton players as they must have felt hard done by with the result against United in the Premier League.
It is likely for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to field a weaker side than that featured in the weekend. The Norwegian generally plays United’s fringe players in the Carabao Cup game, and with the Tottenham fixture this weekend, that is very likely. Brighton might as well field a weaker side but will the positives from last weekend’s game against United.
The likes of Lingard, Fred and Henderson are expected to be back in the starting lineup for United with good performances in the last cup game. It will be a real test for the United fringe players as Brighton gave the main team a run for their money.
WHEN AND WHERE?

TEAM NEWS
The Red Devils still have the same squad as the last match-day, only with the exception that Andreas Pereira will be out of contention looking at his loan deal to Lazio. The rest of the squad, other than Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe, is fine and will be looking to get important minutes. Jesse Lingard played well in the last cup game and thus will be under the spotlight against better opposition.
Odion Ighalo looked rusty and will need to find his feet as the Red Devils look for glory this time around. On the other hand, Brighton will also have their entire squad at disposal and will have to make some tough decisions regarding their starting XI.
