Manchester United have failed to sell most of their deadwood this summer transfer window, having only sold Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling. Sergio Romero is one of the players who wanted to move away from Old Trafford but the United board didn’t sanction a move for the Argentine. It has now been reported by ESPN that some United players are unhappy with how Romero has been treated by the board.
It was earlier reported that Sergio Romero’s wife was infuriated with the fact that her husband wasn’t allowed to leave Manchester United. Lately, the Argentine goalkeeper has also drawn attention from the Major League Soccer as well. Manchester United should let Romero go as it makes no sense to force him to stay, especially when he is the third-choice goalkeeper now.
It is now being reported that several unnamed players from the Manchester United camp are unhappy with how Romero is being treated by the club. The Argentine could have left the club on the last day of the transfer window to Everton on-loan. But the United board remained strong that they only wanted to sell Romero on a permanent basis.
Sergio Romero has been a loyal and a great servant of Manchester United and thus should be allowed to leave the club with the utmost respect.
