Rio Ferdinand racially abused by a fan during match against Wolves

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was watching the sport for BT Sport when a Wolves fan inside the arena racially abused him.

Speaking to BT Sport, Ferdinand has blamed a Wolves fan for racial abuse subsequent to charging the fan made monkey gestures toward him during Manchester United’s 2-1 success at Molineux.

It was the first run through this season that fans were invited once again into Molineux, and most fans attempted to make the event special by paying tribute to coach Nuno Espirito Santo. We would all be able to concur that having fans back on football grounds has been wonderful over the recent weeks, but yet there are few morons who always ruin it for everyone else.

Perhaps the most alarming events during the past season have been the insults of fans via social media who are encouraged by taking cover behind a screen to send abuse to different players and intellectuals.

Shockingly we saw an occurrence at Molineux today a few Wolves fans were tossed out for making bigoted signals at Rio Ferdinand, and you do need to praise him for his reaction to this:

Obviously, these boys don’t have the guts to talk to Ferdinand’s face to face as they know that they will be smacked on the face for their behaviour. Ferdinand as always calmly replied to the antics.

Ferdinand is right when he spoke that such fans should be educated and their bad attitude should not be given a chance. They should stay away from the stadium as there are many good fans who are loyal to the club and its players.

Such racial abuse should be stopped by all means and the guilty should be taught a tough lesson.
