Daniel James gives his views on his performances this season

Daniel James was not so pleased with his performances this season for Manchester United.

James played very few matches. He played only 26 matches this season for Manchester United. Not all of them were guaranteed starts. Meanwhile, last year he started 46 games under Solksjaer.

It is a big fall out and he knows that it has been down to his performances. He knows that he was not consistent and he has been learning all through the season.

While talking to the club’s official website, Daniel James said: “I’m developing every single game. I’m learning. I reflect on every game and every season I’ve played, whether I’ve played zero minutes, whether I play all the games, I think I’m always learning. For me, I’m nowhere near my potential and I just want to keep improving. It’s been different. It’s been hectic. We know the fans are behind us from home, but it’s just not the same. You just want to hear that roar when you’re running with the ball. It’ll be something that will be great to have back. I think they’re missing it just as much as we are. I hope soon we’ll get it back when everything’s safe.”

James had been phenomenal on his debut season where he was heavily involved for Solksjaer but the inclusion of Cavani and Greenwood’s improved performances made them get the node ahead of the Welshman.

In the 19/20 PL season, Daniel James had three goals and 6 assists which is obviously quite less but still, he showed signs of improving. Daniel James was targetted by West Brom and it is not yet clear whether Solksjaer has him in his plans in the long run.

Solksjaer may sign Sancho this summer and this deal is sure to be completed as it looks secure. This will further pile up more pressure on Daniel James as United may play him on the wings. Greenwood may get the nod ahead of James in the wings as Greenwood can play through both feet.

Let’s see what does the next season brings to Daniel James and his position in the club.
