Manchester United vs Young Boys: Report | Champions League 2018/19

Manchester United made 6 changes from the starting XI against Crystal Palace. United started strongly pressing hard in opponents half and were in the brink of leading the scoreline as early as 4th minute when Rashford chipped the ball over opposition’s keeper and the woodworks by an inch.

Red Devils created a consistent threat to Swiss champions and two minutes later Fred fired from 32 yards, just over the bar. The hosts certainly were better than the visitors but lacked that cutting edge to break the deadlock.

Off stood Mourinho in the sidelines encouraging his troop to convert their dominance into a goal. The whistle blew for half-time and there was not much to trouble David or neither did United create a salient opportunity.

The second half started with a chance to seal a place in Round of 16. United was persistently moving ahead with utmost pace but lacked the confidence to strike the net. Marouane Fellaini did get a free shot in the 56th minute of the game but volleyed it over the post to cause despair to supporters. A tame end to a promising move, again and again.

The clock kept on ticking and so did the chants of away fans, cheering for a draw until the 90th minute. Little did they know that the Red Devils have made it a habit of scoring in dying minutes. Who else would it be for United to score a winner?

Marouane Fellaini it was, turning and fizzing the ball into nets. The goal meant so much to the Manager that he thrashed the bottles on the ground, ruthlessly.

The highlight of the game will surely be that flying save from mighty Dave, who won the game for us, again. A much-needed win for United at Old Trafford confirmed their ticket to Round of 16.
