According to Sun Online, Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Fred this summer. The Portuguese manager is considering a move for the Brazilian midfielder, as Fred’s position in the Old Trafford squad has diminished.
Mourinho, who previously signed Fred for United, continues to hold a strong admiration for the player. With the Brazilian midfielder expected to have a reduced role in the upcoming season, this has piqued Mourinho’s interest, and Roma is now on high alert.
Mourinho sees Fred as a crucial addition to his team and envisions building Roma’s midfield around him. Given the ageing state of Roma’s current midfield, new faces are urgently needed for the team.
The recent arrival of Mason Mount raises uncertainties about the future of Fred and his teammate Scott McTominay. Mourinho is confident that Roma can contend for the Serie A title and sees Fred as a valuable addition to the team.

The Brazilian is currently behind Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Christian Eriksen in the midfield pecking order, with Mason Mount also set to join the club.
Fred joined the Red Devils from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018 and has made 213 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 19 assists.
United are reportedly open to selling Fred for around £20 million. The 30-year-old is also targeted by Premier League side Fulham this summer.
