According to the Sun, Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek might be considering a departure from Manchester United to rejoin his former club Ajax.
Ajax are interested in bringing back the 26-year-old midfielder from Old Trafford during the upcoming summer transfer period.
The Dutch national player moved to United from Ajax in the summer of 2020 for a fee of approximately £39 million.
However, Van de Beek’s time at Old Trafford has been marked by significant struggles, and it’s evident that he no longer holds a place in Erik ten Hag’s future plans.
With the United manager showing interest in acquiring Sofyan Amrabat and Amadou Onana, the midfielder’s challenging period at Old Trafford might be approaching its end. The Dutch champions are keen on securing the experienced player’s return.

Nonetheless, Ajax are not financially robust this summer due to their absence from Champions League qualification in the previous season.
They might present a loan proposal with a potential choice to purchase Van de Beek next year, but this approach might not align with Ten Hag’s preferences.
The United manager is eager to generate funds for the purpose of acquiring a high-quality central midfielder in the current summer transfer window. The preferred scenario for him would involve selling Van de Beek to Ajax on a permanent basis.
The midfielder’s foremost objective this summer is to leave Old Trafford. His career progression has been hindered, and he aspires to return to performing at his best.
