Manchester United are facing a shortage of eight players for their upcoming Champions League match against Galatasaray at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The team had a disappointing September, with four losses and only two wins, including three defeats in the Premier League.
Manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed to the club’s official website that Lisandro Martinez will undergo fresh surgery, adding to the list of absent players for the Galatasaray clash.
Additionally, the team is missing three left-backs due to injuries: Sergio Reguilon, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia, along with right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Apart from the defensive players, young graduate Amad Diallo is recovering from a pre-season injury, and Jadon Sancho is currently suspended by the club for disciplinary reasons.
Donny van de Beek won’t be available for United in tomorrow’s match as he was excluded from the club’s Champions League squad for the group stage.
The Red Devils have encountered a challenging start to the season, partly due to injuries.
They are hosting Galatasaray at Old Trafford for the second matchday of the Champions League, and Ten Hag is expecting a strong response following a lacklustre performance against Crystal Palace last weekend.
The team is facing a shortage of full-backs, with only one fit senior player available in that position. However, there are no concerns in midfield or attack, where the manager has the flexibility to select his best options.

He could potentially join Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Rasmus Hojlund in a four-man attacking formation.
This presents the manager with the long-awaited chance to field his top-choice players in the attack.
