As stated by Newcastle United’s official Twitter handle, Manchester United’s upcoming match against Newcastle United in December has been rescheduled. This change comes after the fixture was chosen for live television broadcast.
Originally set for December 2 at St James’ Park with a 3:00 pm kick-off time, the match will now be played at a different time.
The game has been rescheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m., as TNT Sports has chosen it for their live broadcast that weekend.
This change in the kick-off time is a result of new rules implemented this season, which are designed to give teams participating in midweek Champions League matches more rest and time for travel.

The introduction of this new time slot is a response to concerns about the short turnaround between European matches and early Saturday kick-offs, with the aim of improving player recovery.
Man United will head to Turkey on November 29 for their second-leg Champions League match against Galatasaray, which is set to start at 5.45 pm.

Newcastle will have already played against Paris Saint-Germain in France just one day prior to United’s midweek fixture.
The rescheduled match will be the first Premier League encounter between the two teams this season, although they will meet earlier in the Carabao Cup.
In the League Cup, the Red Devils will host Newcastle, a rematch of the February final when Erik ten Hag’s team won 2-0, although that final took place at Wembley Stadium.

If Ten Hag’s team progresses to the League Cup quarter-finals, there may be further rescheduling needed for their Premier League matches.
