Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku has made a fitting reply to former Manchester United right-back after the Englishman referred to the Belgian as overweight and unprofessional.
Just a few weeks earlier, Manchester United decided to sell Lukaku after his two-year spell at Old Trafford. Lukaku arrived at Old Trafford back in 2017 from Everton in a record £75 million deal and scored goals on a regular basis but never really managed to win over the United faithful and was called unprofessional and overweight by former United star Gary Neville.
The 44-year-old Neville slammed Lukaku on social media for his disgraceful act towards the sport and not giving it enough attention and was happy to see the 26-year-old leave the club to join Inter this summer transfer window. Neville wrote on his post, “unprofessionalism is contagious” referring to Lukaku but the Belgian has not taken kindly to these statements.
Lukaku though has taken this extremely seriously and hit back at Neville telling the former England defender not to question his work ethic and professionalism,” Don’t question my professionalism, I live for this game. I am at home all the time. I try to do everything to improve. [Neville] can talk about my fitness but he should never say anything about my professionalism, that I don’t work hard enough. That is something he cannot say. All the coaches I have had to say the same thing about me. What did Ole Gunnar Solskjaer say when I was on the training ground? What did he say? I always work hard and always do my best to try and improve myself. Same with Jose Mourinho and Roberto Martinez. Now Antonio Conte will say it”
